The place

The growing area for Forty Three South  is high on a hillside on the Tasman Peninsula, near Port Arthur in southern Tasmania — the island state of Australia.

now is the time — testing

We overlook Storm Bay and Norfolk Bay and the spectacular mountains of Tasmania's South West.

We have a moderate climate with good rainfall. This produces wonderful strong colours and long strong stems for the flowers, and peony roots so sturdy and healthy that they burst out of the ground in Spring, and may even give you a flower in the first year.

What we supply and when

Proteacea as cut flowers for the wholesale market. Pink Ice available all months except December (volumes vary). Waratah both NSW and Tasmanian available Oct/Dec.

Pincushions Oct/Dec.

Leucodendrons July/October. Leuc.Argenteum (silver tree) available most of the year.

Peony flowers for the wholesale market from late October until December.

Peony roots for RETAIL and wholesale market from mid May until end July.

Fresh flowers are sent Air Freight.
Peony roots are usually posted unless otherwise requested.

Forty Three South will be at Agfest 2005 (May 5-7) again this year selling peony roots.You will find us at site 1123 "Peony Growers of Tasmania".

There will be great bargains available over the three days of Agfest in Carrick, northern Tasmania. If you haven't been to Agfest before you don't know what you are missing!
